Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) is a federal law that establishes minimum wage, overtime pay, and other employment standards for employees in the United States. The law also regulates child labor and establishes recordkeeping requirements for employers.

Example
The FLSA requires employers to pay non-exempt employees at least the federal minimum wage for all hours worked and to pay overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the employee's regular rate of pay for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.
